- Oct 15, 2026. Polkadot's OpenGov is voting on Referendum 1955, which would let up to 1 million new users sign up in the Polkadot App, each with a .dot username. It requests no Treasury funding and would take effect around October 22.
- Oct 14, 2026. Polkadot Community Foundation proposed a new DOT DAO strategy that puts user growth ahead of TVL and makes dotUSD the favored stablecoin. Incentives would go to individual users through on-chain logic, capped per person.
- Oct 14, 2026. Standard Chartered-backed Zodia Custody lets institutions stake Polkadot's DOT directly from cold, segregated custody. Its other backers include Northern Trust, SBI Holdings, National Australia Bank and Emirates NBD.
- Oct 12, 2026. Argentina's National Technological University, with 112,000+ students, made Polkadot Blockchain Academy's protocol engineering part of its formal curriculum. Final-year engineering students in Córdoba are taking it this semester.
