Binance said it will shut down its mining pool, cloud mining, and related services effective November 10 at 07:00 UTC. The exchange made the announcement on October 13.

The shutdown affects Binance Pool, Binance Cloud Mining, Pool Savings, Transaction Accelerator, and associated APIs. Users will have until the effective date to withdraw funds and settle positions. Binance did not disclose a reason for the decision in the announcement.

Binance Pool has operated since 2020 as the exchange's in-house mining operation, allowing users to pool computing power and earn block rewards. Cloud Mining let retail users access mining capacity without owning hardware, taking a cut of earnings. Pool Savings offered yields on tokens held in mining accounts. The Transaction Accelerator let users pay fees to prioritize transaction inclusion in certain blockchains.

The services represent a smaller part of Binance's business relative to spot and derivatives trading. Mining pools are capital-intensive and operate on thin margins, with operators competing on fees and payout speed. Binance's decision to exit follows a period of regulatory pressure on the exchange across multiple jurisdictions. In 2024 and 2025, Binance faced enforcement actions from U.S. regulators, UK authorities, and other governments over anti-money-laundering controls and sanctions compliance.

Other major exchanges have kept or expanded mining operations. Kraken offers staking and mining services. Coinbase runs a substantial staking business. Mining pools operated by independent firms like Antpool, Stratum V2, and Foundry USA remain active and compete on fee structures and payout models.

Binance operates in a narrowing compliance posture following a $4.3 billion settlement with U.S. authorities in 2023 and ongoing bilateral negotiations with regulators. Shedding ancillary services that require additional compliance infrastructure aligns with that trajectory.

The shutdown is effective in three weeks. Any user action required before November 10 will determine whether this exit is orderly or creates liquidity constraints for miners holding assets in Pool Savings accounts.
