Strive acquired 3,311 Bitcoin last week, bringing its total holdings to 32,773 BTC valued at $2.7 billion, according to a post on X from CEO Matt Cole on October 13.
The purchase represents a 12.8 percent increase from Strive's October 2 holdings of 29,462 BTC, as reported in prior SEC filings. The $2.7 billion valuation reflects a Bitcoin price of $82,300 at the time of the announcement.
Strive is a Bitcoin acquisition company that raised $600 million in equity funding in early 2024 and has pursued an aggressive accumulation strategy throughout the year. The firm's holdings now rank among the largest Bitcoin reserves held by any private entity or publicly traded company, placing it in the tier occupied by MicroStrategy, which held approximately 226,500 BTC as of October, and other major institutional holders.
Bitcoin purchases by large holders have accelerated in the fourth quarter of 2024, coinciding with growing institutional interest ahead of potential regulatory clarity in the United States. MicroStrategy announced multiple tranches of Bitcoin buys totaling over 30,000 BTC since August, while other companies have stepped up acquisitions as the asset class gained mainstream adoption.
Strive's 3,311 BTC purchase in a single week is among its largest single transactions recorded in 2024. The company has not disclosed the specific price paid for the latest tranche, though the timing aligns with Bitcoin trading in the $82,000 to $83,000 range during early October.
Holdings this large now sit within the framework of SEC disclosure requirements for companies that consolidate Bitcoin as a material asset. Strive's October filing showed the company holds Bitcoin in custody arrangements designed to meet institutional security standards, a common practice for entities managing nine-figure reserves.
Strive's purchasing pace this quarter has outpaced its activity in earlier months, with the company acquiring roughly 3,300 BTC per week according to the latest announcement. If this rate continues through year-end, Strive could accumulate an additional 13,000 to 16,000 BTC by December 31, depending on market availability and the company's capital deployment decisions.
