X has rolled out a trading option tied to Cashtags, the platform's ticker symbols for stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies and other assets, partnering with five brokerages and exchanges at launch in the United States. Users can now tap a supported Cashtag to view price charts and related posts, then select a "Trade" option that routes them to one of the participating platforms to execute orders. The initial partners are Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken, and Coinbase, according to partner announcements dated September 15.

The Cashtag Partner Program does not execute trades natively within X. Once a user selects Trade, they are directed to the respective partner's mobile app or web platform to complete the transaction. The setup follows X's broader push into financial services; the platform has tested payment features and community notes on financial instruments over the past year. Interactive Brokers and Moomoo confirmed their participation in press releases this week.

Coinbase and Kraken, two of the largest U.S. cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume, gain direct routing from one of the world's largest social platforms. Gemini, owned by the Winklevoss twins, rounds out the crypto segment of the partnership. The integration allows users to move from price discovery and discussion on X directly into execution without switching apps, a flow that competitors like Bloomberg terminals have long offered institutional traders.

The program launches in the U.S. only. X has not yet announced an international rollout timeline or expansion to additional partners. The company did not disclose transaction volumes or usage targets.
