Holders of tokenized real-world assets climbed 56% over 30 days to reach 1.7 million, according to on-chain tracking data. The total value locked in tokenized RWAs reached $38.17 billion as of early August.
The growth tracks sustained institutional and retail interest in moving traditional financial instruments onto blockchain networks. The RWA sector has expanded rapidly over the past two years as banks, asset managers and payment platforms have begun issuing tokenized versions of stocks, bonds, commodities and other instruments that settle and trade on public chains.
Holder growth outpaced absolute value growth. The monthly growth rate of 56% would annualize to roughly 18 times the current holder base if sustained, though such projections rarely hold in nascent markets.
Stocks account for the majority of newly registered tokenized assets in recent weeks, with several blue-chip equities added to blockchain networks in the past month. US Treasury-backed products, which dominated the RWA sector through mid-2026, have seen mixed activity as equity tokens draw capital allocation from fixed-income instruments.

The 1.7 million holder count includes retail investors, institutional accounts and protocol addresses that aggregate liquidity pools. No single platform dominates RWA custody or trading; the ecosystem remains fragmented across Ethereum, Solana, Aptos and several other chains, each competing for settlement and custody market share.
RWA adoption remains a test of whether blockchain infrastructure can reduce settlement friction and custody costs enough to displace traditional financial plumbing for retail and institutional flows. The absolute value of $38.17 billion remains small relative to global equity and fixed-income markets, which measure in the hundreds of trillions.
If monthly holder growth continues at the 56% rate from July into August, the sector will test whether token issuers and trading platforms can scale customer support and compliance operations fast enough to handle inflowing retail volume without incidents.
