Tandem Diabetes Care forecast third-quarter 2026 sales of $265 million and reaffirmed full-year guidance of $1.065 billion to $1.085 billion, according to its Q2 earnings presentation. The company is advancing the commercial launch of Mobi, its tubeless insulin pump system, to the second half of 2026.
Tandem received FDA clearance for Mobi in the second quarter, clearing the regulatory path for the scaled rollout. The device represents the company's entry into the tubeless pump category, a market segment that has grown as competitors including Insulet and Medtronic pursue similar products. Tandem's traditional tubed pumps generated the majority of revenue in prior quarters, and the Mobi launch will diversify that base.
Q3 guidance of $265 million sits at the midpoint of Tandem's prior range. The full-year range implies Q4 sales of roughly $375 million to $395 million, a sequential step-up typical of seasonal diabetes device purchasing patterns.
Tandem competes in a concentrated market. Insulet, which markets the Omnipod, reported Q2 2026 revenues of $306 million. Medtronic's diabetes business, part of a larger portfolio, generated $1.24 billion in fiscal 2026 revenue across all diabetes products. Tandem's $1.065 billion to $1.085 billion annual run rate places it third in the diabetes device market by revenue scale.

The Mobi launch timing matters for investor visibility into the company's ability to compete beyond its installed base of existing pump users. Tubeless systems eliminate the external tubing that connects to traditional infusion sets, addressing a chronic complaint among pump users. Insulet's Omnipod captured roughly 30 percent of the U.S. insulin pump market as of 2025 based on market share estimates, while Tandem and Medtronic split the remainder. A successful Mobi ramp could slow Insulet's market share growth or stabilize Tandem's share against churn to competitors.
Tandem's guidance assumes the Mobi launch absorbs meaningful engineering and commercial resources in the second half while existing tubed pump sales continue without significant disruption. The company faces the standard risk that launch timing slips or that uptake trails forecast, both common in medical device introductions. Tandem's stock price will track quarterly sequential revenue growth and early Mobi adoption metrics once shipments begin.
The number that matters is whether Mobi contributes more than 5 percent of total diabetes revenue in Q4 2026; that threshold would indicate strong early uptake and validate the company's investment thesis for the new platform.
