BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust recorded net inflows totaling 9,269 bitcoin, worth approximately $604 million, over four consecutive trading days from August 3 to 6.

The streak represents sustained institutional demand for regulated spot bitcoin exposure at a scale that has kept BlackRock's product as the largest holder among bitcoin ETF issuers. The firm's accumulated position across its spot ETF now exceeds 400,000 bitcoin, according to on-chain tracking data. Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust, the second-largest bitcoin ETF by assets under management, holds roughly 150,000 bitcoin by comparison.

BlackRock launched its iShares Bitcoin Trust in January 2024 following regulatory approval of spot bitcoin ETF products. The fund operates as a regulated investment vehicle allowing institutional and retail investors to gain bitcoin exposure without direct custody. Inflows into the product have accelerated through 2024, with the four-day streak in early August adding to a broader pattern of capital flowing into bitcoin ETFs as a class.

Bitcoin traded between $62,700 and $65,100 during the four-day window, according to spot market data. The inflow period came as broader cryptocurrency markets rebounded following a sharp decline in late July that had extended across equities and digital assets. Bitcoin ETF products across all issuers recorded $626 million in cumulative inflows over the same three-day window ending August 6, per fund tracking services.

BlackRock has positioned itself as the dominant conduit for institutional capital entering bitcoin exposure since the January launch. The firm's existing infrastructure in equities and fixed income allows it to distribute bitcoin access through existing client relationships and fund channels. Competitors including Fidelity, Grayscale, and Invesco operate spot bitcoin ETFs that collectively manage tens of billions in assets, though BlackRock's product commands the largest share.

The four consecutive days of inflows into BlackRock's product account for roughly 1.4 percent of the total 650,000 bitcoin held across all spot ETF products as of August 2024. BlackRock's contribution to total spot ETF holdings now represents approximately 62 percent of the class's accumulated bitcoin.
