Inspira Financial, an SEC-qualified custodian managing over $63 billion in assets, now offers custody for GLDY, a yield-bearing tokenized gold product from Streamex Corp. The arrangement allows institutional investors and wealth managers to hold the asset through infrastructure they already use for traditional custody accounts.
Inspira serves more than 8 million accounts and has provided custody for over 1,500 funds, operating under the SEC's Custody Rule, which requires qualified custodians to segregate client assets and maintain specific insurance and reserve requirements. The addition of GLDY expands the range of digital assets available through traditional custody channels.
Streamex announced the partnership on July 21. Inspira joins Coinbase Prime, Anchorage, tZERO, Siebert, and Orca in what Streamex calls the GLDY Access Network, a set of custody and distribution channels intended to connect institutional clients to the tokenized asset. Coinbase Prime and Anchorage already provide custody for institutional crypto holdings. Orca offers a decentralized secondary market for the token.
The partnership targets institutions seeking yield-bearing alternatives to unproductive gold holdings. RWAs, or real-world assets, have attracted growing institutional interest as blockchain infrastructure has matured to handle segregated accounts and settlement. Traditional custody platforms like Inspira have begun integrating tokenized assets to serve clients who want exposure without managing their own wallets or private keys.
GLDY itself is structured as a Regulation A+ offering, a form of public offering that allows companies to raise capital while listing securities on alternative trading systems. Streamex previously announced tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds through the same structure. Both tokens are designed for institutional settlement through custody providers rather than retail exchanges.
Inspira's addition is part of a pattern in which custody providers treat tokenized commodities and bonds as routine service offerings. The firm's scale and regulatory standing give institutional wealth managers and RIAs a direct path to hold GLDY without setting up crypto-native platforms. The specific mechanics of GLDY's yield generation and whether it requires staking or simply accrues gold lease fees remain undescribed in the announcement.
The expansion of custody options for a single RWA product shows growing standardization in how institutions access tokenized assets. Inspira's role as a traditional custodian offering the asset alongside crypto-native platforms like Coinbase Prime and Anchorage means institutional infrastructure is beginning to converge on common settlement layers. If similar partnerships accelerate across institutional custodians, traditional finance's role in tokenized asset distribution may shift from experimental to operational within twelve months.
