World Liberty Financial has natively issued its USD1 stablecoin on the Canton Network blockchain, the company said in a post on X. The deployment marks the first live use of USD1 on Canton, a blockchain designed for institutional finance with privacy features.

Canton is operated by Digital Asset and counts major financial institutions among its participants. USD1 was previously announced as intended for deployment on Canton in December 2025; the August 25 launch moves that plan into production. The stablecoin is pegged to the U.S. dollar and designed to settle transactions on the institutional-grade network.

World Liberty Financial, backed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, has positioned itself as a bridge between traditional finance and tokenized assets. The company's focus on real-world asset tokenization aligns with Canton's stated purpose as infrastructure for regulated financial institutions entering blockchain infrastructure.

Canton's privacy features address a core friction point for institutional deployment. Traditional blockchains like Ethereum broadcast transaction details across the network; Canton's design allows financial institutions to conduct settlements with data visibility controls, a requirement for securities trading and derivatives settlement under existing regulatory frameworks.

The USD1 deployment comes as stablecoin adoption among institutional operators has accelerated. USDC, issued by Circle, and USDT, issued by Tether, have established footholds in institutional settlement workflows over the past two years. USD1's entry on a privacy-enabled network targets a different use case: transactions between regulated entities that require confidentiality.

World Liberty Financial said additional announcements would follow in the coming week, without specifying what those disclosures would cover. The company has not detailed transaction volumes, settlement timelines, or which institutions have begun using USD1 on Canton.

USD1's deployment on Canton represents one of the first native stablecoin implementations on the network. If adoption by World Liberty Financial's institutional partners materializes at scale, the move could establish Canton as a settlement layer for privacy-sensitive institutional transactions. The number that decides whether this gains traction is transaction volume flowing through USD1 on Canton within the next six months.
