Uniswap V4 generated $1.0 million in 24-hour fees on Sunday, surpassing pump.fun's $993,107 to claim eighth place among all on-chain protocols, according to fee data tracked by DefiLlama. The ranking marks a sharp climb for Uniswap V4, which held thirteenth place the previous day.
Uniswap V4 launched in September 2024 as an upgrade to the core automated market maker, introducing customizable liquidity pools and reduced gas costs for concentrated positions. The protocol has steadily captured transaction volume across Ethereum and layer-2 networks, but Sunday's fee generation outpaced pump.fun, a Solana-based memecoin launcher that has generated consistent daily fees since its debut earlier this year.

Fee rankings shift with protocol volume and user activity, with higher fees indicating either greater transaction volume or higher slippage from less efficient markets. Uniswap's historic dominance in DEX volume gives the protocol access to major trading pairs. pump.fun's ranking in the top ten despite its narrower use case demonstrates memecoin trading's sustained demand, particularly on Solana where transaction costs remain fractional compared to Ethereum.
Uniswap V4's fee generation has grown as developers build hooks, custom logic modules that extend pool functionality, and as arbitrage and concentrated-liquidity strategies expand on Ethereum and rollups. The protocol competes directly with Curve Finance, Balancer, and smaller AMMs across multiple networks, each capturing fees through different mechanisms and user bases.
The one-day ranking shift comes from normal volatility in protocol fees, which can swing based on market volatility, trading flow timing, and the size of individual transactions. A sustained top-ten position would require broader adoption of V4's features and higher baseline liquidity provision, neither of which Sunday's single-day data confirms. The protocol's trajectory across the next week will clarify whether this represents a durable shift in fee capture or a temporary spike from a large trade or arbitrage event.
