Strive purchased 147 bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 20,167 BTC valued at $1.3 billion, according to an announcement on August 10.

The purchase, executed between August 3 and 7 at an average price near $64,812 per coin, marks the latest accumulation by the corporate bitcoin buyer. Strive now ranks among the largest holders of bitcoin among U.S. listed companies, a category that has grown substantially since 2020 when only a handful of public firms held material amounts of the asset.

Strive has deployed a consistent acquisition strategy over the past two years, building its position through regular monthly purchases rather than large one-time transactions. The company does not borrow to fund these buys; each purchase comes from capital allocation decisions by its board and management. The $1.3 billion valuation reflects bitcoin's price near $64,400 at the time of the announcement, though that figure moves daily with spot prices.

Some entities like MicroStrategy and Grayscale have pursued aggressive accumulation programs that dwarf Strive's position; MicroStrategy held over 200,000 BTC as of mid-2026. Others, including Marathon Digital, have periodically sold portions of reserves to fund operations or take profits. Strive's steady-accumulation model treats bitcoin as a treasury asset rather than a business output.

Corporate bitcoin buying accelerated after 2020 when institutional skepticism around the asset began to erode. The SEC's approval of spot bitcoin ETFs in January 2024 removed custody complexity. Public company balance sheets now carry bitcoin as a line item in quarterly filings, subject to mark-to-market accounting that creates earnings volatility when prices swing.

Strive's 20,167 BTC position equals roughly 0.1 percent of bitcoin's 21 million coin supply cap. The company has not disclosed plans to sell or collateralize any portion of the holdings. At current valuations, the position represents a material portion of Strive's enterprise value, making future price movements a direct driver of shareholder equity.

Strive has added bitcoin to its balance sheet at a steadier clip than most peers, avoiding the concentrated-buy pattern that some competitors have used for market timing. The August purchase follows similar monthly acquisitions throughout 2025 and 2026. If Strive maintains this pace of roughly 150 BTC per month, its holdings would exceed 23,000 BTC by the end of 2026.
