Strive, a bitcoin treasury company, purchased 1,110 bitcoin for $81.5 million, according to an announcement on August 24. The acquisition raised the company's total holdings to 21,356 bitcoin.

The purchase price averaged $73,409 per bitcoin over the period of August 17 to 21, according to the announcement. Strive's previous publicly disclosed holding stood at 20,246 bitcoin, meaning the new purchase represents a roughly 5.5 percent increase in total holdings.

Strive has emerged as one of the largest corporate bitcoin accumulators alongside MicroStrategy and Marathon Digital. The company operates as a bitcoin treasury firm focused on acquiring and holding the asset on behalf of investors. Its holdings now rank among the largest bitcoin caches held by publicly traded companies.

The timing of the purchase came during a period of relative bitcoin price stability in mid-August, when the asset traded in a narrow band. Bitcoin spot prices fluctuated during the acquisition window, with the company executing its purchase across multiple days to achieve an average entry price.

Corporate bitcoin accumulation has accelerated since 2020, when MicroStrategy began its large-scale purchasing program. The trend has drawn participation from a range of companies seeking to hedge against inflation or allocate to digital assets as part of their treasury strategies. Strive's approach of regular, disclosed purchases has attracted institutional capital seeking exposure to bitcoin holdings.

Strive now holds approximately 0.1 percent of the estimated 21 million bitcoin supply cap. At the August 17-21 average price, the company's 21,356 bitcoin would have been valued at roughly $1.57 billion at the time of acquisition.

The announcement to watch is whether Strive will continue purchases at a similar cadence in the coming months, as the company's buying pattern shapes expectations among other corporate treasury managers evaluating bitcoin allocation strategies.
