Stellar has processed 24.2 billion transactions since its mainnet launch, according to data from the Chainspect analytics dashboard. The figure places the network among crypto's most-used blockchains by transaction volume over its operational lifetime.
The network operates with 94 validators, according to Stellar's FAQ. That validator count ranks it 18th in decentralization by that metric, sandwiched between Cronos and Aptos, according to Chainspect's ranking methodology.
Stellar reported 22.5 billion total transactions in its Q1 2026 execution update. The jump to 24.2 billion occurred over the past two quarters. The blockchain has maintained steady activity since its 2015 mainnet launch, originally designed for cross-border payment settlement and issued by the Stellar Development Foundation.
Validator count serves as one measure of network decentralization, though it does not capture stake distribution or node operator concentration. Stellar's 94 validators compare to Bitcoin's estimated 42,000 full nodes and Ethereum's roughly 1 million staked validators across its consensus layer.

The transaction milestone tracks cumulative throughput since Stellar began operations. Chainspect aggregates historical ledger data across Stellar's full operational record, capturing all ledgers processed since genesis. Most public blockchain metrics report rolling 24-hour or 30-day figures, making direct comparisons to Stellar's lifetime total difficult without similar historical aggregations from other networks.
Stellar's transaction growth has accelerated alongside adoption of stablecoins and anchor partnerships on the network. The foundation does not publish official monthly transaction counts, making third-party dashboards the primary public source for historical volume tracking.
At current growth rates, Stellar would reach 25 billion transactions by Q3 2026 based on its recent transaction velocity. The network's validator count and transaction volume are both metrics Stellar Foundation publishes quarterly, and the next official update will arrive in Q2 2026.
