Spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $924.5 million in net inflows for the week ended August 28, a 52 percent decline from the prior week's $1.92 billion, according to flow data tracked through the trading week.

The pullback in bitcoin inflows contrasts with sustained demand for ether products. Spot ethereum ETFs attracted $824.4 million in net inflows the same week, up from $697.2 million the previous week, marking a 18 percent week-over-week gain.

Bitcoin ETF inflows have been volatile since the products launched in January 2024. The $1.92 billion inflow in the week prior to this report stood among the strongest individual weeks on record for the asset class. That surge followed a period of heavy outflows in July as bitcoin declined through the $50,000 range. Weekly inflows in the $900 million to $1 billion band have become more routine as the market has matured past the initial launch phase.

Ether ETF adoption has accelerated since the products received regulatory approval in May 2024. The $824.4 million weekly inflow marks continued institutional appetite for the spot product, as holdings in Grayscale's ethereum mini trust and iShares ethereum ETF have grown substantially through the summer.

The data for the August 24-28 trading week was reported by multiple sources citing SoSoValue and Trader T flow metrics. Bitcoin spot ETFs held roughly $61 billion in assets under management as of late August, while ethereum spot ETFs held approximately $18 billion.
