Japanese listed company Remixpoint liquidated its entire altcoin portfolio on September 1, generating JPY 879 million in proceeds and a JPY 118 million profit. The sale included 901.45 ETH, 13,920 SOL, 1.1912 million XRP, and 2.8023 million DOGE. Bitcoin is now Remixpoint's only remaining crypto asset, with holdings of approximately 1,506 BTC.

Remixpoint said the move aims to consolidate its crypto portfolio and adopt a Bitcoin-centered strategy going forward. The company ranks third among Japanese-listed firms by Bitcoin holdings, behind Metaplanet and Nexon. Japanese corporate Bitcoin accumulation has accelerated since 2024, when the country's Financial Instruments and Exchange Act removed regulatory barriers to institutional crypto ownership.

Metaplanet, Japan's largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder, owns roughly 5,005 BTC as of late August and has made Bitcoin its primary asset class. Nexon, the gaming software company, holds approximately 1,325 BTC. Remixpoint's decision to exit altcoins entirely puts the company in line with other Japanese institutional investors holding Bitcoin as the store-of-value crypto asset.

The JPY 118 million profit on the altcoin sales reflects gains across all four positions, though the company did not break out individual returns by asset. Ethereum traded near JPY 650,000 in early September; Solana near JPY 62,000. The portfolio shift comes as Japanese institutional investors face increasing clarity on tax treatment and custody standards for digital assets under upcoming regulatory updates.

Remixpoint, a fintech and blockchain services provider listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth market, has been expanding its crypto operations since 2023. Management has chosen to maintain a Bitcoin-only position. Three Japanese-listed companies now hold Bitcoin as a core treasury asset, up from one in 2021.

The company's move to a Bitcoin-only position eliminates token-specific risk while maintaining exposure to the broader crypto market. Altcoins typically carry higher volatility and liquidity risk than Bitcoin. Remixpoint did not announce plans to redeploy the JPY 879 million proceeds into additional Bitcoin purchases at this time.
