OpenEden has deployed HYBOND, a tokenized fund tracking BNY Mellon's $2.4 billion Global Short-Dated High Yield Bond strategy, on BNB Chain using RedStone's oracle infrastructure to publish the fund's net asset value.
The product tokenizes exposure to a traditional fixed-income portfolio managed by BNY, one of the world's largest custody and asset-servicing banks, and makes it tradeable on a public blockchain. RedStone, a blockchain data provider, supplies the NAV pricing that token holders need to verify their holdings' real-time value. HYBOND allows holders to trade exposure to BNY's high-yield bond allocation without leaving BNB Chain, the blockchain operated by crypto exchange Binance.
OpenEden, which manages over $250 million in assets, has built a platform for tokenizing institutional-grade securities and fund shares. BNY's underlying fund focuses on shorter-dated bonds, those with one to five years to maturity, which typically carry lower interest-rate risk than longer-duration debt.

RedStone's oracle role is to pull bond pricing data and feed it onto the chain so that HYBOND's token value stays synchronized with the fund's actual NAV. Tokenized bond funds have struggled with reliable pricing mechanisms in the past, as blockchain networks lack native connections to traditional financial data. RedStone operates as an oracle layer that bridges that gap.
OpenEden's choice of BNB Chain over Ethereum or other competing blockchains follows Binance's push to attract traditional finance applications. The exchange has been investing in infrastructure to support institutional on-chain products and custody solutions. Tokenized bonds offer faster settlement than traditional custody and lower minimum investment thresholds for institutional clients, though they remain subject to the regulatory treatment of their underlying securities.
RedStone's pricing oracle now handles NAV feeds for a live institutional product, moving the firm beyond its prior role in crypto-native DeFi protocols. If OpenEden does not update HYBOND's oracle parameters within 30 days of any material change to BNY's fund composition or fee structure, token holders will be trading on stale pricing data.
