Decentralized AI project Nous Research is raising at least $75 million at a $1.5 billion valuation, with Robot Ventures leading the round.

The valuation represents a 50% increase from the $1 billion token valuation Nous carried after its Paradigm-led Series A in April 2025. Robot Ventures is the first named institutional backer in the Series B.

Nous Research builds decentralized AI agents and infrastructure. The project gained visibility through releases including Hermes, an open-source language model designed for agentic reasoning tasks. The raise comes as venture capital interest in AI agents and decentralized compute has accelerated across institutional markets.

Paradigm's Series A round last year valued the project at $1 billion on a token basis, establishing a benchmark for subsequent fundraising. The new round's $1.5 billion price per share or token unit shows investor appetite for infrastructure-layer AI startups competing in a crowded field that includes established names like Anthropic and newer entrants backed by major funds.

Robot Ventures has invested in early-stage AI and automation projects. The firm's lead on Nous Research's Series B places the investor in decentralized models and agent-based systems.
