Movement, a Bitcoin layer-2 network, has joined the Mesh Alliance Program, a cross-chain funding standard that integrates 300+ platforms through a single payment rail. The integration allows users to fund accounts on Movement-based applications without manually entering wallet addresses or selecting networks.

Mesh operates as a abstraction layer for onboarding. Rather than requiring users to withdraw assets to a specific address or choose a destination blockchain, Mesh routes deposits directly from any connected source, exchange, custody platform, or existing wallet, to the destination application. Movement said the integration means applications built on its network can tap that 300+ platform ecosystem immediately.

Motion Wallet, a cryptocurrency self-custody tool, ships as the first application to integrate Mesh's funding rail on Movement. Motion Wallet users can now deposit funds directly into their Motion accounts from external platforms without managing private keys or network selection during the deposit flow.

Mesh operates as a protocol layer backed by several infrastructure providers. The standard allows applications to receive user deposits across chains through a shared interface. Participating platforms range from centralized exchanges to decentralized protocols and custody services.

Movement is built on the Move virtual machine, the same programming layer that powers Aptos and Sui. The network launched its mainnet in 2024 and has positioned itself as a Bitcoin settlement layer with throughput optimized for financial applications. By joining Mesh, Movement extends access to platforms that may not have built direct integrations to its network.

Mesh participants now include over 300 platforms across multiple blockchain ecosystems. Movement's addition expands coverage for applications that want to reduce friction in user onboarding without building custom deposit flows for each supported platform.

Movement's integration adds a Bitcoin layer-2 network to Mesh's roster for the first time, according to the announcement. The standard has gained adoption among Solana and Ethereum applications, and Movement's entry places a Bitcoin-adjacent network into the funding standard.
