A strategic partner of LayerZero transferred 8 million ZRO tokens worth roughly $15 million to Coinbase Prime on October 3, according to on-chain data. The tokens came from a 40.57 million ZRO allocation the same address received one year prior.

The transfer marks the first significant movement of the partner's allocation since receiving it in October 2025. LayerZero distributed ZRO, its governance token, to strategic partners and the broader community in October 2025 as part of the token's initial launch. The token has traded between roughly $1.50 and $2.50 since launch.

On-chain monitoring by Ember shows the two addresses associated with the partner held the full 40.57 million ZRO allocation for twelve months before moving the 8 million portion to Coinbase Prime, a custodial service for institutional traders. The timing aligns with the token's anniversary release date and comes as ZRO has traded near the lower end of its post-launch range.

LayerZero partners received allocations as part of the token distribution that aimed to reward early supporters of the cross-chain messaging protocol. The size of the transferred amount, roughly 20 percent of the partner's total allocation, represents a partial liquidation rather than a full exit from the position.

Transfers to Coinbase Prime typically precede sales or liquidity provision. Partners may transfer tokens to custodial platforms for operational or risk management reasons independent of sales.

ZRO's trading volume and price action have remained subdued relative to other major protocol tokens launched in 2025. The strategic partner's movement of a portion of its allocation to a venue with direct market access does not confirm intent to sell, but the timing and size warrant monitoring as other early holders may face similar unlock schedules over the coming months.

If other strategic partners execute similar partial liquidations, the cumulative flow could test support levels for ZRO in the near term.
