Kite, a developer platform for autonomous AI agent payments, joined the Avalanche Payments Collective as a Contributing Partner alongside Franklin Templeton, VanEck and Kraken. The collective operates a global payments network covering 150 countries and 96 currencies.
Kite's addition brings verifiable identity and programmable spend controls to the network through its Agent Passport product. The platform assigns each agent a cryptographic identity tied to spending limits and settlement rules, allowing developers to prevent unauthorized or excessive transactions without custodial oversight.
According to Kite's post on X, the company has activated settlement on Base, enabling direct payment routing and 1:1 USDC bridging for agent wallets. The Agent Passport dashboard now displays transaction routes and timelines across chains, though the full cross-chain settlement mechanics across additional networks remain under development.
Kite is shipping a new developer product this month to provide per-user spend visibility and automated cost controls.
Kite also joined Aethir Cloud, a decentralized compute network, as an ecosystem partner for Aethir Claw, a GPU access marketplace. The partnership integrates Kite's identity layer with Aethir's infrastructure, allowing agents to settle compute costs using stablecoin payments tied to verifiable on-chain identity.
The Avalanche Payments Collective launched in April 2024 as a consortium focused on building payment infrastructure for institutional and developer use cases. Kite's membership adds an identity and spend control vendor to the network.
