Internet Computer's MULTI/DEX protocol went live in play mode on multidex.ai on July 11, initiating a community evaluation phase ahead of its official GitHub release, according to an announcement on the Dfinity forum.
The platform operates entirely on-chain under the governance of the Internet Computer's Network Nervous System (NNS), leveraging ICP's canister architecture to execute autonomous decentralized finance infrastructure. Play mode allows developers and users to interact with the protocol in a controlled environment before mainnet deployment.
Dfinity has activated a bug bounty program to incentivize the identification of vulnerabilities during the testing phase. The Internet Computer Foundation maintains a general bug bounty program covering ICP infrastructure, though specific reward terms for MULTI/DEX have not been publicly detailed.

Internet Computer has positioned the protocol as "DeFi 3.0" infrastructure, distinguishing it from earlier decentralized finance systems through its canister-based execution model. The NNS, which governs the Internet Computer network, oversees MULTI/DEX's operational parameters and protocol updates.
Developers can access the live play environment at multidex.ai to test swap functionality, liquidity pools, and other DeFi primitives. The play mode deployment does not represent mainnet launch; the protocol remains under active development pending community feedback and security audits.
