Hyperliquid's tokenized real-world asset trading volume exceeded its cryptocurrency trading for the first time on a weekly basis, with $26 billion in RWA volume against $24 billion in crypto volume, according to Lorenzo Valente at ARK Invest.
The $26 billion RWA figure represented 54 percent of the platform's total weekly trading volume of roughly $50 billion. The shift marks a turnover in composition for Hyperliquid, which has built infrastructure for on-chain derivatives and spot trading in both crypto and tokenized securities since its 2023 launch.
Hyperliquid operates as a decentralized exchange with native on-chain settlement. The platform began offering RWA trading through tokenized instruments including US Treasury bonds and other fixed-income products. The RWA market on blockchains has grown steadily since 2023, with competitors including Ondo Finance, Centrifuge, and institutional platforms building competing infrastructure for bonds and short-term debt instruments.
Total tokenized RWA volume across major platforms reached an estimated $200 billion in assets under management by mid-2026, according to data from on-chain tracking services. Hyperliquid's $26 billion in weekly RWA volume represents material trading activity relative to that total; the platform has gained market share in both spot and derivatives segments since introducing RWA pairs.

The weekly milestone does not capture daily averages or sustained volume across all timeframes. Volatility in both crypto and traditional markets can swing weekly figures materially. Hyperliquid's total addressable market for RWA trading depends on regulatory clarity around tokenized securities and custody standards, which remain unsettled across major jurisdictions.
The crossover comes as institutional participation in blockchain-based trading infrastructure grows and demand for on-chain settlement of fixed-income products increases. Weekly volume is a narrower metric than sustained monthly or annual throughput; a single week of activity does not guarantee sustained reversal of the platform's historical ratio.
The figure to track is whether Hyperliquid sustains RWA volume above 50 percent of weekly platform trading over the next quarter, and whether other exchanges report similar compositional shifts.
