FOMO Pay has received validator approval on Canton Network, operating a dedicated node as a private, institutional-grade gateway for business-to-business payment and settlement operations, according to a PRNewswire announcement dated August 4.

The approval expands FOMO Pay's existing multi-chain infrastructure to include institutional use cases on Canton, a blockchain platform built on the Daml smart contract language and operated by a permissioned validator set. Canton requires approval from its validator network to add new participants.

FOMO Pay operates payment rails across multiple blockchains and currencies. The company had not previously disclosed institutional settlement operations on Canton. Validator approval on Canton comes from the network's governance layer; validators vote on new participants and protocol changes. Canton is designed for financial institutions and regulated entities seeking to settle transactions on a shared ledger with privacy controls.

The payment infrastructure sector has seen growing institutional interest in blockchain settlement over the past two years, particularly among banks and fintech firms seeking to reduce settlement times and intermediaries. Other firms including 1exchange have also joined Canton as validators, according to publicly available network records.

FOMO Pay did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the scope of settlement volumes or deployment timeline. The company did not disclose which institutions, if any, plan to use the new Canton gateway.

Validator approvals on permissioned networks typically indicate readiness to handle production traffic, though Canton's institutional focus means the network's full participation remains limited to approved operators. If FOMO Pay begins processing material settlement volume on Canton within the next quarter, the move would test whether permissioned blockchains can absorb institutional payment flows at meaningful scale.
