Binance Futures opened trading in PONS-USDT and Hajimi-USDT perpetual contracts on September 6, according to the exchange's announcement. Both contracts trade with USDS margin.

Perpetual contracts allow traders to take long or short positions without expiration dates, with funding rates adjusting periodic settlement between buyers and sellers. Binance Futures has added dozens of perpetual pairs over the past two years across a range of market capitalizations and trading volumes.

PONS is a Solana-based token. Hajimi is a blockchain project focused on artificial intelligence applications. Neither token ranks in the top 100 by market capitalization as of early September 2026. The introduction of perpetual contracts for both assets follows a pattern at major derivatives exchanges of extending access downward into mid-cap and smaller-cap tokens as liquidity consolidates on a handful of centralized platforms.

USDS margin, a stablecoin Binance introduced in 2023, is used across the exchange's derivatives suite. The addition of PONS and Hajimi perpetuals adds to an existing menu of over 400 perpetual contracts Binance Futures offers. Trading volume and open interest in new perpetual pairs typically begin at lower levels before scaling if retail or institutional demand builds.

The launch came after a year in which Binance Futures saw regulatory pressure in multiple jurisdictions. In May 2024, the platform reduced leverage caps from 125x to 20x on most pairs, a move regulators had flagged as a consumer protection measure. Perpetual contract trading in Asia and Europe remains subject to warning labels and position limits in several markets.

Binance added an average of two new perpetual pairs per week during 2024 and early 2025. The pace of new contract launches across derivatives platforms has remained steady even as spot trading in altcoins has consolidated around fewer venues. Both PONS and Hajimi perpetuals will face a key test in their first month: whether open interest sustains beyond the initial trading period.
